5 weeks into the semester and we are close to wrapping up our first unit of study!
As a reminder, grades are going into Synergy! Make sure that you are checking frequently to stay on top of your grade in the class. Any missing work or incomplete work needs to be turned in to replace the 0. If you are absent on the day of an assignment it is your responsibility to get the work and turn it in before the assignment becomes a 0.
At the end of this week, we will have a formative quiz and we will begin working on our first writing summative assignment.

Monday, January 31st
Today students finished examining one of three different versions of Cinderella. The versions were Chinese, Grimm Brothers, and Bulgarian.
After reading their assigned version, students completed a plot chart and graphic organizer.
In groups of 3 students discussed the different versions of Cinderella and completed a graphic organizer to compare and contrast the three versions with the Disney version.
Tuesday, February 1st
Today we did a mini-lesson on perspective.
Students listened to a read-aloud of The Three Little Pigs and then watched The True Story of the Three Little Pigs as told by A. Wolf.
After watching, we discussed how the story changed based on who was telling the story.
Wednesday, February 2nd
Today students read an abbreviated version of Sleeping Beauty.
To finish our discussion on perspective, we watched Maleficent.
Thursday, February 3rd
Students finished watching Maleficent and discussed how the story was different based on who was telling the story.
Friday, February 4th
Today students read The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
While reading, students completed a character traits organizer for the character of their choosing (Ichabod Crane, Katrina Von Tassel, or the Headless Horseman).
